Slate gives engraved artwork a light finish against a dark natural background. It is a distinctive choice for names, animal designs, family photos and personal messages. Its natural surface and edges give each piece a slightly different character.

Open the designer with the slate board selected, then choose artwork from our library or upload your own image. Add wording, adjust the placement and review the preview before checkout. We check the saved design before making your piece in our Invercargill workshop.

Can I add a name or date?
Yes. Add your wording in the designer and position it with your artwork. Review the total before checkout because text and artwork choices can affect the price.
Can you engrave my photo on slate?
Yes. Upload your photo for preparation. The preview is a guide and we refine the artwork before engraving. Contact us if you want advice about whether a photo will work well.
Do you also make slate coasters?
Yes. Our coasters collection includes personalised slate coaster sets, along with ceramic and other designs.
