Cutting boards from reclaimed timber (made to size)
Choose your size—our stock of reclaimed beams (Tawai, Rimu, Macrocarpa, and Redwood) is unprocessed, so we can cut to fit. Expect a bit of character like occasional nail holes; we carefully fill these where needed and seal every board with a food-safe finish. We’ll minimise visible nail holes wherever possible.
How to order (after-hours service):
We run this after our normal jobs during the day, so please enquire first via our contact page or email sales@ashlaser.co.nz with the size you want, wood preference, and any design ideas. We’ll reply with a quote and a realistic timeframe based on woodselection and our current queue.
Design & artwork:
- Text, simple logos, or our artwork are quick to set up.
- Custom images (your photos/images) these take 1–2 hours of prep to get “laser-ready” (cleanup, tracing/vectorising, and test burns if needed).
- We’ll send you a digital proof for sign-off, once sign-off is complete, we require payment for any custom work beforehand.
Build process & timing:
- Milling to size
- Glue-up and flattening
- Sanding and edge profiling
- Food-safe sealing and cure time (typically 24–48 hours to fully set)
- Engraving your image
- Resanding
- Locally sourced beeswax with linseed finish
Please note – our “Store Notice” has our days out from prints. This is kept up to date and will have a realistic expectation of our orders.

Custom Engraved Coasters

Simply send us your photo and any text you’d like engraved. We’ll turn it black and white and adjust some settings to make it look good on ceramic or slate
